Hillsborough Resources wants to spend $32 million to double the size of its Quinsam coal mine near Campbell River.   The market has never been so hot and Hillsborough wants to export to China.   

Our governments should stop this kind of activity.   Exporting greenhouse gas to another country is no solution to global warming.   We should be especially concerned because we are receiving the pollution back from the China who is buying our coal.   The whole concept is like spitting into the wind.

About 50 coal-fired power plants, like the one in Bergheim, Germany, are slated to begin operating in Europe in the next five years. - By ELISABETH ROSENTHAL
